The ultimate messy cake 糟糕

And just like that, we're on our way home❤ April 1st we received a message from our mission president telling us to pack our bags and be ready to leave 2 days later. Coronavirus has made things just too messy, so our whole mission is headed back, same situation as many missionaries all around the world. Our hearts are SO broken but still SO full of gratitude for this beautiful opportunity of two and a half weeks. The plan from here is really unclear as to if I'll be reassigned or wait till Taiwan opens back up, but regardless I'll be home for a few weeks self quarantined so WOOT WOOT.
... As for our week though, it was STACKED with blessings!! Starting off, my gents, with the best Monday! A member wanted to show us around Taiwan and took us to a coast and natural earth museum that was just a DREAM.  Followed by that, we went around Taiwan trying it all. This week we had a chance to visit a beautiful Buddhist temple and it was so special to see and be involved in something that people care so much about. We then wove in between cars, and this whole week we just gave it everything! Met a man named Timon from the Netherlands who has such a strong spirit and it was so edifying to talk to him. The experience we had with him was one that also helped us all realize that this short time in Taiwan really meant something. We love him! Right now, I'm sitting in an airport finishing up this email, and we're about to head on our last flight from Cali to SLC after a 12 hour flight and a night in a hotel, we are almost home!

In this experience, nearly all we came in contact with both on the street and in our ward gave us so much love (and lots of sass) and I really cannot describe how much joy we've found in meeting so many of God's children. We have so much hope that we will return to Taiwan someday, but wherever we go we know that the Lord has a way regardless and we have no fear. I wanna end with one of my favorite scriptures in Alma 26:30 which says:
"And we have suffered all manner of afflictions, and all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our joy would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some."
I love you so much and God loves you so much! Through it all, know that God has a plan of hope where you can find true and lasting happiness!
Signing out (for maybe a few weeks? We'll see?) ❤蘇姐妹
